Non-Hunting Experiences
Game Management Areas offer something that national parks cannot: access with few rules. Epic Safaris' clients have unlimited enjoyment to hundreds of thousands of acres in two of Zambia's most important GMA buffer zones — one bordering Kafue National Park, the other adjacent to North Luangwa — and that access shapes every non-hunting experience we offer. Unlike national parks, the only operator permitted to have complete access to the entire concession is our concession partner, and hence, our clients and whoever accompanies them.
Game drives and walking safaris here take place across vast, open terrain with expert local guides who know these landscapes intimately. There are no fences, no designated routes, no other vehicles, and no set schedules — which means your daily non-hunting activities including night drives run as long as the wildlife warrants and you want to be away from camp, something operators inside national parks cannot offer. The animals are the same. The freedom we have to conduct activities in our game management areas is different.
Community visits are a natural part of any safari in these areas. Our teams work alongside local villages every day, and guests who want to understand what conservation actually looks like on the ground — not as a concept but as a lived relationship between people and wildlife — find that this landscape provides it without having to arrange anything special. Delivering protein to hungry women and children in a village can be one of the most moving experiences of a lifetime. It's something that most of us take for granted but not in the remote places where subsistence farming is the norm.
For guests in a hunting party who prefer a different experience, or for non-hunting companions joining a safari, Epic's GMA access provides a genuinely distinctive alternative — unhurried, uncrowded, and shaped by landscapes that very few operators have the access or the relationships to offer.

~ Night Drives ~
Heighten your senses, as a whole new cast of characters fills the landscape of Zambia at night. With the help of a spotlight, take to the road with your private guide and see what you can find. You will not want to leave Zambia without seeing the wildlife come to life under the stars.

~ Sundowners ~
An iconic tradition of Epic Safaris. As the sun sinks below the horizon, there is nothing better than finding a spectacular spot in the heart of the bush for an ice-cold beverage to watch the sun sink below the horizon, like you have never seen before.

~ Community Visits ~
Spend some time with the local villages and visit some of our current education, health, and community projects we are proud to be helping with at Epic Safaris. We highly recommend that everyone who hunts with Epic Safaris visits the communities that their hunt helps support.
